PTI HND & Certificate programme admission, 2025/2026

The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates, for admission into the under-mentioned Full-time Programmes in Higher National Diploma (HND) and Certificate Programmes for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES

The following Certificate Programmes are available:

1. General Welding Certificate
2. Commercial Diving Certificate (Classes I and II).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. HND candidates are to possess Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit passes relevant to the choice of Programme which must include English Language and Mathematics, in addition to the National Diploma (ND) relevant to their choice of Programme. For details see online admission prospectus for 2025/2026 Academic Session.
2. HND candidates are to enroll in NBTE Portal (https://hnd.nbte.gov.ng)before applying for any Programme.

COST OF ADMISSION FORM

Candidates for HND, General Welding and Commercial Diving Programmes are required to pay a non-refundable fee of fifteen Thousand Naira (N15, 000.00) for each PTI admission form for 2025/2026 Academic Session.

PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE APPLICATION

Candidates for HND should first apply in NBTE Portal (https://hnd.nbte.gov.ng) before applying for any programme

Candidates for General Welding and Commercial Diving Programme should apply directly to Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) by following the steps below:

1. 1. Visit www.pti.edu.ng
   2. Click on “Programmes Menu” Click on National Diploma & Higher National Diploma Programmes and Click “Apply Here” under the Higher National Diploma Programmes. For Certificate Programmes, click on Certificate Programmes in the “Programmes Menu” and Click “Apply Here.”
   3. Fill in the “FULL-TIME Applicant Sign On” page and click on “Sign Up” at the bottom of the page (Note: write down your username and password for subsequent use and click on submit).
   4. This will take you to the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) page where you generate the RRR code.
   5. Print the RRR code page and take it to any bank for payment. Make sure you keep the RRR printout.
   6. After the payment of N15, 000.00 which is the cost of each admission form, return to the PTI website (www.pti.edu.ng) and click on Students’ Menu and select “Applicant Login.”
   7. Enter your Username and Password and click LOGIN.
   8. Fill in the online application form and print out the completed online application form which will be presented at the examination /interview centre along with your RRR code.

REMARKS:

If the portal rejects your USERNAME and PASSWORD in your attempt to login again after payment, then send a mail to [email protected] stating your RRR code.

DATES FOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR GENERAL WELDING CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME.

The entrance examination for General Welding Certificate Programme will hold at a date to be announced later at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State. Candidates are advised to report at Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State a day before the entrance examination to know their examination venue.

FOR HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) INTERVIEW

The interview for HND candidates will hold from 25th – 29th August 2025 at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State. The Transcripts of candidates offering HND Programmes should reach the Admission Office from the Institute they graduated from, on or before 25 th August 2025. The Transcript should be sent through courier service. When coming for the interview, candidates should come along with evidence or the receipt of transcript fee payment.

COMMERCIAL DIVING CERTIFICATE INTERVIEW

The interview for Diving Certificate will hold at a date to be announced later at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, and Delta State.

PERIOD OF SALES

Online sale commences on 16th June 2025 and closes on 20th August 2025

LATE APPLICATION

Late online sale of HND, General Welding and Commercial Diving admission forms commences from 21st August 2025 and ends on 24th August 2025 at the cost of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) per form.
