RIVCOHSMAT SUG disclaims misleading media reports regarding student protest

Abimbola 1 week ago

The Students' Community of the Rivers State College of Health Science and Management Technology wishes to address and clarify the misleading publication contained in the headline:

"No Water, No Light Protest Rocks Rivers College of Health Sciences ... As Students Demand Provost's Sack." As broadcast by National Network New Paper.

We wish to clearly state that the students' demonstration was strictly centered on the issues of water scarcity and limited electricity supply within the school environment, which arose as a result of the spoilage and malfunctioning of the school's water facilities.

At no point did the students protest for the removal or sack of the Provost as reported in the publication. The inclusion of such information is false, misleading, and does not represent the position or demands of the student body.

Following the peaceful complaints and demonstrations by students, the management swiftly intervened by:

Replacing and repairing the damaged water facilities;

Washing and sanitizing all water tanks;

Taking steps toward improving the electricity supply situation within the campus.

We are pleased to state that our voices were heard, and we sincerely appreciate the school management for their prompt response and intervention toward addressing these pressing welfare concerns.

The students remain committed to peaceful dialogue and constructive engagement in ensuring a better learning environment.
