RSUST notice on 44th matriculation ceremony for 2025/2026 session

Rivers State University (RSU) has officially released details for its upcoming 44th Matriculation Ceremony, marking the formal induction of fresh students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The ceremony is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 28th January 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the University's Convocation Arena.

According to a notice signed by the Acting Registrar, Dr. Idanyingi F. Daminabo, all registered fresh students are required to collect their academic gowns from their respective Faculty Officers starting from Friday, 23rd January 2026.

To collect the gown, students must present the following:

· Evidence of payment of Acceptance Fee and other mandatory charges.

· Two recent passport photographs.

· A printed copy of the online admission letter, alongside a valid residential address and phone number.

The university has issued a strict deadline for the return of academic gowns. All matriculating students must return their gowns unfailingly on or before Friday, 30th January 2026.

A penalty of ₦5,000 (Five Thousand Naira) per day will be imposed for any default, applicable for up to one week after the deadline. Subsequently, the student’s portal will be deactivated and can only be reopened upon payment of a non-negotiable penalty fee of ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira).

The ceremony signifies the formal admission of the new students into the university community. The management wishes all matriculants a pleasant and peaceful ceremony.
