SAZU Senate approves re-appointment and appointment of Key academic officers

The Senate of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Bauchi, has approved the reappointment of the Deputy Vice-Chancellors as well as the renewal and appointment of some key academic officers of the University.

The approvals were granted at the 58th Regular Meeting of Senate, held on 15th January, 2026, and were aimed at strengthening academic leadership and enhancing effective service delivery across the University.

Renewal of Appointments

Deputy Vice-Chancellors

The Senate approved the renewal of appointment of the Deputy Vice-Chancellors for a final term of two (2) years as follows:

Professor Bala Ma’aji Abdulhamid – Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic)

Professor Aminu Umar Kura – Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration)

Academic Directors

The Senate also approved the renewal of appointment of six Academic Directors for a final term of two (2) years:

Professor Shu’aibu Musa Hardo – Director, Directorate of General Studies

Dr. Mohammed Aminu Umar – Director, Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES)

Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Alhaji Aliyu – Director, Academic Affairs Division for Planning and Quality Assurance (AP&QA)

Dr. Yusuf Musa Yahaya – Director, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Centre for Peace and Security Studies

Dr. Wasiu Suleiman – Director, Human Resource and Career Development (HRCD)

Dr. Awwal Nuhu Hussain – Director, Basic and Remedial Studies

Dean, Students Affairs Division

In addition, the Senate approved the renewal of appointment of Professor Abdussalam Murtada as Dean, Students Affairs Division, for a final term of two (2) years.

New Appointment

The Senate equally approved the appointment of Professor Shehu Inuwa Galoji as Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, for a term of two (2) years in the first instance.

The University Management congratulated all the appointees and wished them continued success as they contribute to the growth and development of Sa’adu Zungur University.
