Requirements for ScottishPower Scholarship for International Students Qualification
- Applicants must be in possession of, or expect to receive, a Bachelor with Honours at a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) or Master’s degree from a recognised university on submission of the application. If the applicant is still in the final year of the academic course 2025-2026, the grant will be contingent upon the applicant securing the university degree at the determined level at the end of the academic cycle in June/July 2026.
- Applicants must follow the usual application procedure for the UK University they wish to attend. Applications submitted by students who have not submitted an application will be rejected during the selection process.
- Applicants may not be in receipt of any scholarship, financial aid, or other award of a similar nature from institutions and public or private foundations during the period that the scholarship is awarded for.
- Although the preference would be for scholars not have to take up a part time job while they study, we do understand that due to the current cost of living there may be a requirement for you to do so. We would be happy progress with a role so long that it did not interfere with your studies.
- Integrated Masters will not be funded as part of this programme
- Candidates who have previously been awarded a scholarship by ScottishPower, the ScottishPower Foundation or any of the other companies within the Iberdrola group are not eligible to apply.
Interview date, Process and Venue for ScottishPower Scholarship for International Students
The selection process will commence with online testing. Following this stage, candidates may be shortlisted further considering academic qualifications, their application, and the knowledge area of proposed studies. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre as the final stage of the selection process.
Online testing
- Applicants will be invited to complete online digital interview along with some online game assessments to complete. Applicants can expect to receive an email inviting them to participate in online testing between 5th March-25th April 2025. Email invitations to participate in online testing will be issued by ScottishPower through 3rd party provider.
In Person Assessment Centre
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre at our offices in Glasgow, Scotland or Hoylake, England in May 2026.
Outcome
- All applicants will receive an update on the outcome of their application by 4 th June 2026.
Candidate Nomination
Once the final interviews have been conducted, the selection committee will propose the list of selected candidates. The final nomination of candidates is subject to the following conditions being met:
- Submission of a signed Acceptance Letter dated within five working days of the date from which the successful candidates received the initial offer. The offer letter will be provided to the success candidates by email within 2 days of the date of notification of the outcome. The Acceptance Letter can be submitted by email to [email protected] or by post to: ScottishPower, Social Projects & Sector Education Team, 11th Floor, 320 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5AD.
- Submission to ScottishPower of formal confirmation of admission to study at the chosen UK University before 2 nd July 2026. If the university has not provided confirmation to the applicant by this date, e.g., conditional qualifications are still pending, there will be an element of flexibility however ScottishPower should be made aware of any delays as soon as possible. If admission is rejected by the University the candidates will lose their right to the scholarship.
- Submission by final-year students of the official certification showing that they have obtained the corresponding degree at the required level. Failure to complete the studies will result in cancellation of the scholarship.
