Fed Poly, Ukana Students Union warns against misuse of school's communication platforms
The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the Federal Polytechnic Ukana has issued a strong warning to students over the misuse of official school communication platforms.
In a statement released by the Office of the Speaker, the SRC expressed concern over the increasing circulation of unverified posts and false information on platforms meant strictly for vital and official communication. The council described the development as disruptive and detrimental to the academic community.
The SRC advised students responsible for such actions to desist immediately, noting that the notice serves as a formal warning against future misconduct. According to the statement, an investigation has already commenced to identify those involved in the spread of false information.
The council further warned that any student found guilty would be summoned before the Parliament of the Student Representative Council of the Student Union Government (SUG) for appropriate disciplinary action.
The statement was signed by Rt. Hon. Nkanta Ekeabasi, Speaker of the 3rd Legislative Council, Federal Polytechnic Ukana.
A copy of the notice was also forwarded to the SUG President, Comrade Raphael D. Akpan, for his information and necessary action.
The SRC reiterated its commitment to maintaining order, accuracy, and responsible communication within the institution.
