In response to ongoing consultations with the University Security Unit, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) has issued a formal security advisory outlining key updates aimed at enhancing the safety and well-being of all students.

The key updates are as follows:

1. Extended Access at Small Gate: The small university gate will be reopened starting Monday. It will be operational daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

2. Enhanced Personal Safety Advisory: Students, with a specific emphasis on female students, are strongly advised against walking alone when returning home or entering the campus. The SRC recommends moving in groups, particularly with colleagues, to significantly improve personal security.

3. Mandatory Use of Official Entrances: Students are instructed to cease using any unauthorized routes to enter the university. All campus entry must be strictly through the officially designated access points: the Main Gate, Small Gate, or the New Site Gate. This directive is intended to prevent potential security breaches.

The SRC emphasized that these measures are implemented with the primary objective of safeguarding student lives and well-being. The council has appealed for full cooperation and strict adherence to the new guidelines from the entire student body.

The advisory was signed by Comr. Iliyasu Umar Adamu, President of the SRC, who reiterated the council's commitment with the closing statement: "YOUR SAFETY IS ALWAYS OUR PRIORITY. SRC CARES."
