FULOKOJA SUG notice to students on security situation around the campus
The Studentsβ Union Government (SUG) of Federal University Lokoja has raised an urgent security alert following reports of increased kidnapping activities in areas surrounding the campus.
In a notice issued by the Office of the SUG Provost Marshal, students were alerted to heightened risks particularly around the Crusher Axis and Felele Extension.
The statement strongly advises all students to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary movement in these locations, and refrain from being in these areas during odd hours. Students are also urged to promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to both security agencies and university authorities.
The SUG provided a dedicated contact number for reports and emergencies: 07076318875.
The student union leadership, under Comr. Joseph Adomu FBJ and the Cadet Initiative, reiterated its commitment to student safety. They assured that the union is working closely with relevant security agencies and the university's security board to address the latest security risks facing the student community and to ensure a secure campus environment.
The notice was officially signed by Comr. Joel Jafe Ajakaye, the SUG Provost Marshal.
This alert comes amid growing concerns over security in and around university communities nationwide, prompting calls for increased patrols and collaborative efforts between institution management, student bodies, and law enforcement.
