Tai Solarin University of Edu, now affiliated to OOU - Students Protest Move

The Ogun State Government, Wednesday, affiliated Tai Solarin University of Education TASUED to the Faculty of Education in Olabisi Onobajo University. This move brought about its conversion from a University of Education to an Institute of Education.

As part of the collective move to restructure the educational system in the state, the government also merged all four ICT polytechics. These changes was made known to the public by the Commissioner of Education in the state.

Reacting to the conversion, the students of Tai Solarin Uni. of Edu. have taken to the streets, threatening to disrupt traffic flow along the Lagos-Ibadan Express way, if the government does not revert its decision within 24hrs.

The students are protesting that this move by the government will only reduce their morale especially owning to the high standards and records kept by the school as one of the best Universities of Education in the country.
