A 24-year-old Mathematics graduate from the University of Ilorin, Ayodeji Akinsanya, has been named the institution’s best-graduating student with an impressive CGPA of 4.97. His academic journey is a testament to resilience and dedication, shaped significantly by years of home-based education from his father.

After a family setback made formal schooling financially unfeasible, Akinsanya's father, a statistics graduate, took it upon himself to teach his children at home, instilling a love for mathematics. Speaking to Punch Newspaper, Akinsanya shared that receiving the recognition of top student was an "overwhelming" experience, especially when he received a standing ovation from the vice-chancellor.

Akinsanya began his journey at UNILORIN in 2019, but the foundation of his success was built years earlier. Reflecting on his father's commitment, he said, β€œHe taught us at home, focusing primarily on mathematics, which was his strength.” This early tutelage paved the way for Akinsanya's remarkable academic achievements.
