UNIABUJA warns of admission, accommodation and recruitment fraud

The Management of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has issued a strong disclaimer warning members of the public to beware of fraudsters falsely claiming to facilitate admission, hostel accommodation, and recruitment into the institution in exchange for money or other personal favours.

According to the advisory, these fraudsters operate by circulating fake admission letters, cloned university websites, and fraudulent social media accounts. They also engage in deceptive phone calls, text messages, and online communications designed to mislead unsuspecting candidates, parents, guardians, and job seekers.

The University emphasized that admission, hostel accommodation, and recruitment processes are conducted strictly through approved, transparent, and merit-based procedures. It stated unequivocally that no individual, agent, or third party has been authorized to demand or receive payments or favours on behalf of the institution.

Members of the public have therefore been urged to disregard and promptly report any such fraudulent claims. The Management further warned that anyone who engages with these fraudsters does so at their own risk, as the University will not be held liable for any losses arising from such dealings.

All enquiries relating to admission, hostel accommodation, and employment are to be directed to the SERVICOM Unit and the Directorate of Information and University Relations.
