UNIBEN issues important notice to the university community

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) Water Factory which was established as a research and student training venture has been restructured, and now has the capacity to produce Eight Thousand (8,000) bags of sachet water and One Thousand packs of bottled water daily.

​In view of the improved production capacity of the Factory, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Edoba B. Omoregie, SAN, has directed that, in strict compliance and implementation of a Visitation Panel Report, and subsequent Council directive, only UNIBEN water should be sold and served on both Campuses of the University. Accordingly, with effect from Monday 11th May, 2026, no other brand of water (sachet or bottle) will be allowed to be sold in shops or served at events on both Campuses of the University other than UNIBEN Water.

​The above development is hereby communicated for the attention of staff and students on both Campuses of the University. The Chairman, Business Centres and Rentals Committee and Chief Security Officer, are to take particular note of this, and put modalities in place to ensure strict compliance among Business operators in the University.
