UNIBEN notice to graduating students on upload of project on NERD

Amara β€’ 1 month ago

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) management has released a critical circular to the university community regarding the mandatory upload of final year research projects to the University Institutional Repository. This action is now a non-negotiable prerequisite for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization.

In line with new regulations from the Nigeria Education Repository Databank (NERD), all graduating students must ensure their research work is digitally archived before their NYSC mobilization can be processed.

The Problem: The University has observed that several Compact Discs (CDs) previously submitted to the John Harris Library were blank or lacked research content. This constitutes a breach of the new requirements and will halt the mobilization process for affected students.

Required Action for Graduating Students

All students desiring to enlist for NYSC are advised to treat this matter with extreme urgency and follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Verification
Visit the UNIBEN Institutional Repository portal at https://ir.uniben.edu.newgenlibctxt/ to verify that your project work is successfully uploaded and accessible.
  • Step 2: Corrective Resubmission
If your project is not found or your CD was faulty, you must:
    • Copy the complete research project into a readable CD.
    • Go to the John Harris Library with a copy of your Statement of Result.
    • Resubmit the CD for assessment and immediate upload.

This development is communicated for the immediate attention of all graduating students. Failure to comply may lead to exclusion from the upcoming NYSC mobilization exercise.
