UNIBEN SUG Issues Security Advisory to All Students

The Students' Union wishes to formally inform the student community that we are aware of the unfortunate security incident reported around the UNIBEN Main Gate area today involving a moving vehicle.

We understand the fear and concern this situation may have caused among students, and we want to assure everyone that the Union is actively engaging relevant authorities and closely monitoring developments surrounding the incident.

In light of this situation, all students are strongly advised to remain calm, security conscious, and avoid unnecessary movement until normalcy is fully restored. Students should also avoid isolated areas around the campus environment, stay vigilant at all times, and immediately report. any suspicious movement or activity to security agencies or appropriate school authorities.

The safety and welfare of students remain a major priority of this administration. As a Union, campus security has been one of our key agendas, and we will not relent in pushing for a safer and more secure learning environment for every student of the University of Benin. We remain committed to ensuring that our campus is free from threats, violence, and every form of danger.

We urge all students to remain law-abiding, avoid spreading panic or unverified information, and continue to cooperate with security personnel as investigations continue and Your safety remains our utmost priority.
