UNILAG Council of Faculty Presidents notice to students
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced a reduction in both faculty and departmental dues following persistent deliberations and negotiations between the institution’s management and the Council of Faculty Presidents-Elect (2025/2026).
According to the notice, returning students in the Faculties of Law, Pharmacy, Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), and Dentistry will now pay a consolidated standalone fee of ₦15,000, reduced from the previous ₦25,000. Freshmen in these faculties will pay ₦20,000.
For all other faculties and departments, the faculty dues have been reduced from ₦15,000 to ₦7,500, while departmental dues have been adjusted from ₦10,000 to ₦8,500 for returning students. Freshmen in these faculties will pay ₦15,000 for faculty dues and ₦10,000 for departmental dues.
The notice emphasized that no other fees should be paid at faculty or departmental offices aside from the student association dues, as directed by the university management.
In addition, hostel accommodation applications will open soon. The delay has been attributed to technical issues affecting course registration and fee payments on the student portal. Affected students are advised to contact the university via the provided email addresses.
The university also announced that physical screening for all newly admitted students will commence on Monday, November 18, 2025. A detailed schedule is expected to be released before the end of the week.
All freshmen are urged to begin preparations and gather the necessary documents ahead of the screening exercise.
