UNILORIN notice on codes and conducts ahead of rain semester exams

Students of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) are hereby advised to note the Rules and Regulations/Code of Conduct on examination malpractices as contained in the University Academic Programmes (Undergraduate and Sub-Degree, on Unilorin website) and Students Handbook of Information and Regulations, pages 17-24 reproduced below:

Candidates shall:

i. use or consult during an examination only such books, papers, instruments or other materials or aids as are specifically permitted or provided by the Department in which the examination is being held;

ii. not introduce or attempt to introduce into the examination venue handbags, books, notes, Mobile Phones instruments (I-pod, Bluetooth, flash drives, etc) or other materials or aids that are not permitted;

iii. not enter any examination venue with any inscriptions on any part of the dress or body e.g. palm, am, thigh, etc. If such inscriptions bear any relevance to the examination;

Iv. not pass or attempt to pass any information from one person to another during an examination;

v. neither act in collusion with any other candidate(s) or person(s), nor copy, nor attempt to copy from another candidate, nor engage in any similar activity;

vi. not disturb or distract any other candidate(s) during the examination;

vii. only use their matriculation number for examination (no names should be written).

viii. not be allowed to leave an examination venue until after 75% of the time allocated for that particular paper has expired;

ix. not write any University examinations on behalf of any other students, nor other people write any University examination for them, and

x. not to be in possession of incriminating material(s) either used or not at the examination or involved in any other serious examination misconduct including impersonation before, during or after an examination.

In addition, candidates should note that:

a. in case of CBT examinations students must be orderly and abide by the rules guidelines prevailing at the centre;

b. use of wrist watches, mobile sets, i-pods, etc are prohibited and any handset discovered in and around the examination hall would be impounded, irrespective of it being switched off.
