UNIMAID SUG notice to students regarding electricity challenges in the hostels
The Studentsβ Union Government (SUG), University of Maiduguri, has acknowledged recent complaints concerning electricity challenges affecting some hostels on campus.
In a statement dated February 10, 2026, the union said the move is aimed at ensuring prompt intervention and necessary repairs. Affected students have been requested to submit specific details to enable effective follow-up.
According to the SUG, the required information includes the hostel name, block, floor, and room number. Students experiencing the issue are advised to forward these details through the Welfare Director on +234 814 205 5089, the Social Director on +234 812 823 3234, or any other SUG executive.
The union reassured students that their welfare remains a top priority, adding that all reported electricity-related issues will be addressed accordingly. The SUG also thanked students for their cooperation and understanding as efforts are made to resolve the situation.
