UNIPORT Shut Down Following Students' Protest

The senate of the university of port-harcourt during an emergency meeting held yesterday has ordered the closure of the university following the protest by students of the institution new tuition fee policy.

The protest which initially started on a peaceful note, later turned violent with students destroying school properties worth millions of naira.

The students of the institution were ordered to vacate the three campuses not later than 6.00pm yesterday.
