UNIUYO SUG notice on Lecture-Free Days for 2025/2026 Fresh Students Orientation

The Students’ Union of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has announced lecture-free days for Year I and Year II students to facilitate the 2025/2026 orientation programme for newly admitted students.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, University of Uyo Students’ Union, the university management approved Monday, 16th February and Tuesday, 17th February 2026 as lecture-free days.

The release stated that there will be no lectures or academic activities for Year I and Year II students during the two days.

The orientation exercise was described as compulsory for all fresh students, who are required to assemble at the Mini Stadium, Town Campus, by 10:00am each day.

The Students’ Union further disclosed that lectures for fresh students will resume on Wednesday, 18th February 2026, advising all affected students to take note and comply accordingly.
