UNIUYO Faculty of Computing schedules Orientation for new students, 2025/2026

The Faculty of Computing Students Association (FOCOSA), University of Uyo, has announced the Orientation and Reception Ceremony for newly admitted 025 Series (100 Level) students of the Faculty of Computing.

According to a notice issued by the 2024/2025 FOCOSA Executive Council, the event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 22nd January 2026, by 10:00 a.m., at ICT II (Permanent Site, beside the 1000-Capacity Hall). All students are expected to be seated by 9:45 a.m.

The ceremony is designed to officially welcome new students into the faculty and acquaint them with academic ethics, values, departmental expectations, and general faculty guidelines. Special guests expected at the event include the Dean of the Faculty, Heads of Departments, Faculty Officers, Staff Advisers, Examination Officers, the SUG President, and other senior colleagues.

Attendance is compulsory, as Heads of Departments will be present and attendance records will be submitted accordingly.

The dress code is formal. Male students are to wear corporate attire with a tie, suit, or senator wear, while female students are to appear in corporate shirts with skirts or trousers, with ties optional, or senator wear. Awards will be presented for Best Dressed Student and Best Dressed Department.

Topics to be covered during the orientation include CGPA calculation, strategies for good academic performance, campus rules and regulations, students’ handbook review, course registration, fee payment procedures, and examination conduct.

The Faculty congratulated all newly admitted students and welcomed them to the Faculty of Computing, University of Uyo.
