UNIUYO SUG announces dissolution of Mr. and Miss UNIUYO pageantry

The Students’ Union of the University of Uyo has announced the immediate dissolution of the Mr University of Uyo and Miss University of Uyo titles, along with the Executive Council overseeing the pageantry structure.

According to an official statement issued by the Director of Socials, Amaechina Emeka, the decision was approved by the University Management following an internal review of the conduct, relevance, and administrative operations linked to the pageant system.

The Union stated that all rights, roles, and privileges attached to the dissolved titles have been withdrawn. Students are also prohibited from parading, introducing themselves, or engaging in activities under the affected titles until further notice.

All activities and responsibilities previously handled by the Royal Council have been suspended. Until new titleholders and an executive council are officially recognized, the Office of the Director of Socials will oversee all related activities.

The Union urged students to comply fully with the directive, noting that the restructuring aims to improve the representation system and enhance the pageantry framework for the benefit of the institution.
