UNIUYO urgent notice to NELFUND beneficiaries facing course registration issues

The school administration has issued an urgent clarification for students who are beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) and are currently unable to register their courses for the 2025/2026 academic session. The issue arises as the portal continues to prompt them for fee payment, despite NELFund having disbursed fees for the previous session.

It was observed that NELFund had paid the school fees for the 2024/2025 session on behalf of some students. Consequently, the university's registration system does not recognize this payment for the new academic session, thereby blocking affected students from proceeding with course registration.

To resolve this situation, affected students are directed to take the following steps immediately:

1. Pay the 2025/2026 session school fees personally to unlock and complete the course registration process on the portal.

2. Apply for a refund of the 2024/2025 school fees that were already paid by NELFund, following the university's official refund procedures.

Requirements for Refund Application:

· A formal letter addressed to the Bursar requesting the refund. The letter must include the student’s registration number, department/faculty, and personal bank account details.

· Original copies of both the school fees receipt and the NELFund payment receipt.

· Students are advised to use a traditional commercial bank account to facilitate the refund process.

The management emphasizes the importance of retaining all payment records and submitting the refund application promptly to prevent any delays. This two-step process is designed to ensure that students can register smoothly for the new academic session while allowing for proper reconciliation of the institution's financial records.

All students impacted by this issue are urged to treat this notice with urgency and comply accordingly to avoid further disruption to their registration for the 2025/2026 academic year.
