UNIJOS management responds to reported Student Abduction

The Directorate of Student Affairs at the University of Jos has released an official statement following the emergence of a disturbing video showing a student in the custody of abductors. The university administration confirmed that the incident has been verified and formally reported to the relevant authorities.

In response to this developing situation, the Director and security agencies are actively working toward a safe rescue. The university has issued a set of immediate directives to the student body and faculty to ensure the safety of all parties involved and to prevent interference with ongoing operations.

Official Directives and Safety Protocols

• Suspension of Fundraising: All fundraising activities and related documentation must be halted immediately.
• Non-Interference: Security agencies must be allowed to perform their duties without external interference.
• Heightened Caution: Students are warned that those responsible may be monitoring public efforts and could exploit fundraising attempts to worsen the situation.
• Reporting Information: Anyone with useful information or contact with the abductors is urged to report immediately to the Directorate or the student’s family.
