University Of Ibadan Staff Shut Down School Activities In Protest Of Unpaid Arears

The non-teaching and senior staff unions of the institution Shut Down Business and administrative activities on Wednesday at the University of Ibadan ( UI) as they protested shortfall in their salaries and unpaid arrears of allowances.

The workers involved in the protest include Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Senior Staff Union of Universities (SSANU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT).

The university gate was reportedly closed to students and workers which resulted in a traffic gridlock in the area. Also, the internal transport system was prevented from functioning forcing lecturers and newly admitted students to trek to their destinations.
