UNILAG Distance Learning Institute admission, 2025/2026

The Distance Learning Institute (DLI), University of Lagos (UNILAG), has announced the commencement of applications for admission into its various programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for admission into programmes offered through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The non-refundable application fee is ₦20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira) only.

General Information and Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Entry Requirements:

Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) O’ Level credits in SSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at not more than two sittings.

Year Two Admission:

Candidates seeking Year Two admission must possess NCE, ND (minimum of Lower Credit), JUPEB, IJMB, or GCE A’ Level qualifications in relevant subjects.

Year Three Admission:

Applicants must possess an HND (minimum of Lower Credit) or a Bachelor’s degree (minimum of Third Class) with evidence of NYSC Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificate.

Professional Qualifications:

Holders of relevant professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, ACIB, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, ACIS, CII, CIBN, and ANACIA are eligible for Year Three admission.

Other Conditions:

Applicants awaiting results are not eligible to apply.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 31st October, 2025.

Admission is open to all applicants, including those with learning disabilities or challenges.

Applicants must possess basic ICT skills to effectively use the ICT-Enabled Supported Blended Learning (IESBL) model.

No UTME examination is required for admission into the UNILAG Distance Learning Institute.

Procedure for Application

The application process is in two stages:

Stage 1: JAMB Registration

Visit the JAMB CAPS website and register.

Pay ₦3,500 to obtain a JAMB registration number.

Stage 2: UNILAG DLI Application

1. Visit the UNILAG application portal: http://applications.unilag.edu.ng

2. Click “Start Fresh Application.”

3. Select “Distance Learning Institute” as the application type.

4. Provide required details including name, JAMB registration number, phone number, and email address.

5. Click “Pay Now” to pay the application fee of ₦20,000 online, or print the Remita payment advice and pay at any commercial bank.

6. Return to the portal, click “Continue Application,” and log in using your payment reference number and surname (in lowercase) as password.

7. Complete the application form, upload required documents, submit online, and print a copy for reference.

Applicants may save their application form and complete it later if necessary.
