UNIUYO Faculty of Education notice to students

The Education Students Association of Nigeria (ESAN), University of Uyo chapter, has announced a major policy overhaul concerning official communications and the use of its primary WhatsApp platform, effective immediately.

In a directive issued from the Office of the Executive President, Comrade Courage Sampson, the association has mandated that all official communications from the President's office must now be issued exclusively on the approved official letterhead. The notice strongly cautions students to disregard any memo, notice, or correspondence claiming to be from the Presidency that lacks this official branding, declaring such documents inauthentic and unapproved.

Concurrently, the association has imposed a complete ban on all forms of advertisements, unsolicited posts, group tagging, and the sharing of promotional links within the main ESAN WhatsApp group. This move aims to curb spam and maintain the platform's focus on official academic and administrative discourse.

To address the need for promotional content, the ESAN leadership revealed plans to reform and restructure the WhatsApp platform. The restructuring will involve creating a separate, designated channel specifically for advertisements and promotions. Pending the full implementation of this new structure, all advertisement requests are to be submitted directly to the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations for vetting and appropriate placement.

As part of this digital reorganization, the main ESAN WhatsApp group will also undergo a temporary restructuring to ensure order and streamline administrative processes.

The statement signed by Executive President Courage Sampson emphasized that these measures are designed to "uphold standards, maintain order, and promote effective communication within the Faculty." The leadership expressed appreciation for the cooperation and understanding of the student body as these new protocols are enacted.
