UNIZIK Governing Council approves appointment of Prof. Jacinta Eze as University Librarian

The Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has approved the appointment of Professor Jacinta Ukamaka Eze as the substantive University Librarian. The decision, reached at a recent council meeting, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the institution’s academic and research infrastructure.

Professor Eze, a distinguished scholar in Library and Information Science, brings a wealth of experience to the role. She is the pioneer and a two-time Head of the Department of Library and Information Science at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). Her academic leadership and administrative expertise have earned her recognition within the university system and the broader library profession.

Prior to her appointment, she served as Acting University Librarian at ESUT and was the immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Library Association, Enugu State Chapter. Her appointment is expected to enhance library services, promote digital innovation, and support research excellence at UNIZIK, in line with the university’s vision for global competitiveness.
