UNIZIK Punishes 8 Lecturers For Gross Misconduct And Malpractice

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University has terminated the appointment of one lecturer, demoted 3 and meted out various punishment to four others.

This followed the report of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee on Investigation on sharp practice in
the Faculty of Engineering.

The lecturer whose appointment was terminated was said to have manipulated students examination answer scripts in the 2012/2013 academic session.

Other affected lecturers were penalized for offences which include alteration of marks, awarding marks indiscriminately, inability to submit students’ attendance list, lack of marking schemes and extorting students.
