UNIZIK SUG election goes Digital

Nnamdi Azikiwe University SUG elections which that took place on Friday 4th September 2019 was electronically based. The student Union Government election commenced at 8:00am  on the said day and ended by 2pm.
Students reportedly voted from the comfort of their homes and classrooms, while the University also provided free Wi-Fi services at the university Library. The free Wi-Fi was used by Students who were in the school premise to vote, just by logging on to the election portal with their Registration Numbers and a personalized code sent to their numbers.
The progress of the election was monitored from the Situation Room by members of the Electoral Board, Candidates' agents, security agents as well as members of the University Press.
This is a new milestone in SUG elections in Nigerian tertiary institutions and will most likely be copied by other universities.
