UNIZIK SUG notice on Adjustment of Transportation Fares within and outside Campus

This is to inform all Zikites that, following deliberations between the Students' Union Govemment, the University's Directorate of Transportation, and tricycle bus riders/drivers, all parties mutually agreed to adjust transportation fares to reflect current economic realities, particularly the over 30% increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirits (PMS) (or otherwise 'Fuel').

The new fares are as follows:

- N300 (an increase of N100) for tricycle rides, shuttle buses, and buses for every location inside the University, from any point inside the campus or from any of the parks.

- N1,200 for drops inside the University from any of the parks or from anywhere inside the campus.

- N700 for trips outside the University to KWATA junction.

All other existing directives on transportation remain unchanged. All organs of the Union Government are directed to align their policies and operations with these adjustments.

We assure Zikites that the fares will be reviewed downward if there is a significant drop in the cost of PMS.

For now, we urge the students to bear with the Union as we all bear and contend with the challenges facing our nation.
