USCOEGA announces commencement of 3rd semester (summer) programme for 2025
The management of Umar Suleiman College of Education, Gashua (USCOEGA), Yobe State, has officially announced the commencement of its Third Semester (Summer) Programme for the 2025 Academic Session.
This was contained in an internal circular dated 24th October, 2025, signed by Adam Umara Amshi, Deputy Registrar (SS), on behalf of the Registrar. The circular followed the resolution of the Summer Semester Committee meeting held on 23rd October, 2025, and the subsequent approval by the College Management.
According to the circular, the purpose of the Third Semester (Summer) Programme is to enhance academic performance, promote timely graduation, and provide an opportunity for students with outstanding courses to complete their studies without waiting for the next academic session.
Programme Schedule
The College management has scheduled the sales of application forms and registration to begin on Monday, 27th October, 2025, and end on Friday, 28th November, 2025.
Lectures for the Summer Programme are expected to commence on Monday, 17th November, 2025, and will run until Saturday, 29th November, 2025. Examinations have been scheduled to start on Monday, 1st December, 2025, and will conclude on Saturday, 20th December, 2025.
All lecturers involved are required to submit marked examination scripts to the Academic Office on or before Tuesday, 23rd December, 2025.
Students are strongly advised to adhere strictly to the schedule to avoid missing any key academic activities, as the programme will run on an intensive and compressed timetable.
Eligibility Criteria
The Summer Programme is open to specific categories of students. These include outgoing NCE III students who have between one and five carryover courses, spill-over students who have a maximum of ten carryovers, and amnesty candidates with a maximum of fifteen carryovers.
The registration fee for each category has been fixed as follows: ₦18,000 for outgoing NCE III students, ₦23,000 for spill-over students, and ₦28,000 for amnesty candidates.
The management emphasized that only students who meet these eligibility requirements will be allowed to register for the Summer Programme.
Ineligible Candidates
Certain categories of students have been declared ineligible for participation. These include students who have been dismissed or have absconded, those who have not completed their teaching practice or project, and amnesty candidates with more than fifteen carryovers.
The College reiterated that these restrictions are in line with academic regulations and are intended to maintain the integrity and standard of the Summer Programme.
Payment Procedure
Interested candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦2,000 to the College’s Miscellaneous Account at Union Bank Plc, Gashua Branch, with the account number 0027838162.
After making the payment, candidates are to present their bank teller to the Academic Secretary for the collection of their official application forms.
Students are reminded to make all payments through the approved College account and retain evidence of payment for future reference.
