Young UNIBEN lecturer shot dead by gunmen

Gunmen suspected to be cultists have shot dead, a 33-year-old lecturer with the University of Benin, Maxwell Eseosa Aimuan in Edo state, on Saturday, June 12. The Department of Public Administration lecturer was said to have been shot while he was driving into his compound in Isihor, Benin City.

It was further gathered that Aimuan had just parted ways with his friends after an evening outing before he was shot severally by the gunmen. He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The public relations officer of the university, Benedicta Ehanire, who confirmed the incident described the late lecturer as hardworking and dedicated university staff. He called on security agents to unravel those behind the killing.
