YSU Academic Calendar 2023/2024 Academic Session Out
This is to inform all fresh and returning students of Yobe State University (YSU) that the management of the institution has adjusted the academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic session
YSU adjusted academic calendar has been designed to run for a period of 1 year approximately. All academic and non-academic activities have been scheduled to take place within the approved timeframe as adjusted by the management of the university.
YSU Undergraduate academic calendar is as follows:

| Commencement and Ending of lectures | 14 weeks | 23rd August 2024 | 3rd September 2024 |
| Matriculation exercise | 1 day | 7th September 2024 | 7th September 2024 |
| First semester examination | 3 weeks | 29th November 2024 | 18th December 2024. |

| ETTC Meeting & approval of Lectures time table | 1 Day | 20th December 2024 | 20th December 2024 |
| Second semester begins and marking of first semester scripts | 14 weeks | 21st December, 2024 | 1st April 2025 |
| Second semester examination | 3 weeks | 4th March, 2025 | 23rd April, 2025 |
| Marking period | 3 weeks | 25th April, 2025 | 13th May, 2025 |
| External examination/moderation and consideration of results at departmental, GST, Faculty and senate level. | 3 weeks | 15th May, 2025 | 3rd June 2025 |
| Inter-sessional break and admission of new candidates for the new session | 5 weeks | 25th April, 2025 | 27th May, 2025 |
| Resumption date for 2024/2025 academic session | Resumption date for 2023/2024 academic session will be announced in due time. |

In summary of the above, YSU academic calendar for 2024 has been scheduled to run for a period of 10 and half months which is equivalent to a full academic session including both short and long semester breaks. It covers all academic and non-academic activities designed for undergraduate students.
