How to add Facebook Fan/Like Box Plugin to Blogger/Blogspot website

Despite the relevances of adding a social plugin to a website to boast its reach, blogger fail to provide a Facebook Fan/Like Box plugin for their platform. Few hours after adding Kwadoblog’s Facebook fan page plugin to our site’s sidebar, I received an email from a friend demanding for steps on how to add the same plugin to his blogger website.
After assisting him, I decided to publish the post here.
For my readers who really don’t know what is a Facebook Fan/Like Box, A Facebook Fan Box or Like Box is a great plugin that allows blog visitors to subscribe to your blog updates via their Facebook accounts (by pressing the ‘Like’ button), without leaving your blog. Once this is done, the visitor will receive your most recent blog updates on their Facebook page. This box also displays faces of the "likers" on your blog. An example of a Facebook Fan/Like Box is shown below (Please click on the ‘LIKE’ button to subscribe to our updates).

How to add Facebook Fan/Like Box on a Blogger/Blogspot website.

Before we proceed, please note that before creating a Facebook fan box, you should have an existing Facebook fan page.
  • Find out your Facebook fan page URL by visiting your Facebook fan page and copy the URL in the address bar of your browser.

  • Next, visit this page and paste your Facebook fan page URL into the Facebook Page URL field, as it is shown below:
  • Adjust the height and width of the Fan Box as you wish. Once you are satisfied with the looks of the Like Box, click on the "Get Code" button

  • You'll be presented with 4 taps/options (HTML5, XFBML, IFRAME and URL). Click on the ‘iframe’ tap, select and copy the code generated in the box, as it is shown below

  • Log in to your Blogger account, go to 'Layout', and click on the 'Add a Gadget' link (on the position you wish to add the Fan Box)

  • From the pop-up window, scroll down and select the 'HTML/JavaScript' gadget

  • Paste the code you copied earlier in the empty HTML box

  • Click Save and you're done.
